BIOGRAPHY
Lau Kei Lung Dragon, a musician who born and bred in Hong Kong.
Dragon started his piano journey since 3 years old. He got his Trinity ATCL Diploma in piano performance (Distinction) and ABRSM Grade 8 theory (merit). He is now studying Music in HKBU.
Dragon was active in performances and other competitions in his career.He won a first prize in '9th Hong Kong Youth Piano Competition', Gold Award in CBContest International Music Competition and Music e-Contest 2023. He joined an international master class 'WIENER MUSIKSEMINAR' which held in Vienna. He performed in MDW and Hilde Wagener Künstlerheim. He participate 'Antonio Vivaldi Vienna International Youth Competition 2024' and get a 3rd prize.
Dragon performed in Hong Kong Steinway Gallery during Prof. Raymond Young's student concert. He was invited to be the solo pianist at the "Jockey Club Campus of Creativity" Grand Opening Ceremony at HKBU. Besides piano performance. Dragon is a member of ensemble choir Cantoría Hong Kong. The choir performed Faure Requiem on 4/11/2024 of Faure's centennial concert.
Apart from his studies and performance, he also work as a piano tutor. He teached students from 4 years old to adult. The level he taught from intermediate to Grade 8. He also helped students work on school music exams, piano grade exams and performances and the students got great result. Dragon prefer teaching with passion and communication, he leads students to think and feel the music, not only work on the piano skills and theory. The teaching goal is let students understand the story behinds the works and get interest into music.
He is now studying piano performance with Prof. Raymond Young. He has also attended masterclasses with Prof. Soonjin Kim, Prof. Ralf Heiber, Mr.Choi Sown Le, Prof. Lilya Zilberstein etc.
Dragon is interested in different area of music. He is now self-learning composing and music arrangement like chamber music or piano works. He also interesting in conducting, he conducted a guest choir 'ShenZhen Lily Girls Choir' in a conducting masterclass. Now, he is studying conducting with Dr. Law Po Kwan.
